FILM PRODUCTION

Traffic Control Consultation/ Design

Film-ready traffic control starts long before the first cone hits the ground. Any type of closure — full street, lane, shoulder, sidewalk, etc. — will typically require a traffic control plan (TCP) to accompany a permit application, issued by a municipality, county, or state.

A TCP charts the requested closure(s), outlining work zones and all temporary traffic control devices required to safely manage vehicular and pedestrian movement. Plans are developed in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), along with any additional provisions required by the jurisdiction.

Our focus is to create the clearest, most legible plans possible — a component that can be instrumental in expediting approvals and avoiding unnecessary revisions.

But more importantly, our plans are built for how production operates.

With experience on both sides of the process, we understand what’s being asked on set — whether that’s full lockups, intermittent holds, background control, or keeping equipment out of frame. Each plan is designed with real-world execution in mind, not just compliance on paper.

Built to integrate with production workflows, vendors, and evolving infrastructure across markets, our process centers around centralized access to plans, requests, and updates — keeping production aligned from initial intake through execution.

Customer Relationship Management

We operate at the intersection of production and traffic control — bridging communication, logistics, and execution in fast-moving environments.

Beyond consultation and design, our role is to keep all parties aligned. Film production and temporary traffic control often operate with very different expectations, timelines, and communication styles. We bridge that gap by creating clarity in communication and consistency in execution.

For a temporary traffic control equipment provider, there is no fixed playbook for keeping up with a film or television production. Requests shift, schedules change, and adjustments happen in real time. Our approach brings structure to that process — providing visibility for production teams, direction for crews, and consistency across every phase of the job.

More Than a Plan

A traffic control plan is only one part of the process. Every TCP is supported by a structured intake process and organized delivery, ensuring that requests and revisions are always up to date and nothing is lost between submission, design, and execution.

For larger productions — including episodic television and feature films — this can extend to a dedicated project space, providing a single source of truth for all traffic control plans and requests throughout production.

The result is a smoother experience for production, fewer communication gaps, and plans that function the way they’re intended — from approval through execution.
